I Am A River

Life-Journey Blog of DE Navarro — Author, Poet, Editor, Essayist, Poet-Philosopher, Minister) [go to blog]

In this blog I will record experiences and lessons of life and share with you my poetry, thoughts, ideas, essays, quips, and other various and sundry tidbits of information—from normal to zany, from well-grounded to beyond reality, from solid to nebulous, from serious to frivolous, and everywhere in-between, out-beyond, and all-around.

I am interested in God, the universe, Earth, the world, spirituality, Zen, nature, the arts, the sciences, humanity, society, history, culture, life and living. I have lived close to nature in the woods and wilds of America, lived a rural life in beautiful manicured country sides of farms and groves, lived a suburban life in smaller communities on the outskirts of major cities, and I have lived an urban life in poverty on the Southside of inner city Chicago. I have lived both high and low and worked in many different industries and trades in my incredible journey of life, and this will all come out in this journal as I reminisce and share.

These interests and experiences are the backdrop to the way I live and think. They are behind the things that I love and seek and explore and study in life as I continue on my life-long journey to discover more keys, tips, and tricks to living a powerful, successful, vigorous, zestful, fulfilling and rewarding life—even amidst this often turbulent and material world.

The things I love and seek and explore and study will form the basis of the content of this blog and the things that I share here.

What are some of these things I love and pursue and study? I . . .

. . . seek simplicity of life
. . . am very Zen and practice mindfulness – living in the moment
. . . explore the simple beauty of nature
. . . love peace and solitude
. . . love practical frugality and resourcefulness
. . . study biblical texts and spirituality
. . . love God and His Word above all and Jesus Christ
. . . am very unorthodox and do not follow the masses
. . . love to constantly test everything to find better ways of doing things
. . . seek solutions and view life as an unfolding of opportunity
. . . study everything with focused intent
. . . love to cook healthy and delicious gourmet meals
. . . enjoy discussing the deeper matters of life
. . . live as healthy and toxic-free as I can (always learning more)
. . . love to learn new things and pass it on
. . . seek to be a balancing force wherever I am
. . . see the congruence in things on the same pole rather than their opposition
. . . believe that life should be fun and we should enjoy work
. . . believe life is about what is right—not who is right
. . . seek to live a well organized and ordered life filled with spontaneity
. . . seek to live a spontaneous life of wonder filled with simplicity and order

and more.

So, come back and visit often, give my poems, thoughts, stories, quips and essays a chance and I think you will find you enjoy my voice and perspectives even if you don’t agree with all of them, you will at least be entertained by them and it may give you some pause and ideas in exploring your own life. I have some faithful fans who love what I write and produce, so give it a chance.

Thank you for being here. Hope you enjoy and remember: “Life is good, so keep it that way.”

Thanks kindly DE Navarro for liking my submission at the LinkedIn group Poetry Editors & Poets. Since my submission may not be that memorable, here is the title again: ‘This too shall pass [a work in progress].’ – thanks warmly for the support, mark rector
