Brevity Poem Contest

I recently ran a brevity poem contest on AllPoetry. Poets were supposed to read my recent award winning poem, The Red Pirogue, and select three consecutive words from the poem to be the title of their poem. Their poem was to be 23 written lines or less. Poems could be any kind and any style.

There was a wonderful array of submitted poems, some very creative forms used, I could tell much thought went into the writing of them. Here are the top five poems and winners of the contest. Click on the title of the poem to go read the poem. You do not have to be a member of AllPoetry to read the poems.

The Top Five Winners Were

       Gold =   Cacophony of Birds – CeltArctic

     Silver =   [ sipping absinthe Sazeracs ] – MLee Dickens’son

   Bronze =   Under The Stalwart – Captain Cur

 1st Jade =  Hits Most Miss – Kaleidoslope

2nd Jade =   Sipping Absinthe Sazeracs – RobertRichard

Enjoy these fine poems.
